Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless is not a direct services provider. We do not have or manage any shelter space or other resources for the homeless, and we are not able to get you connected to resources that are not otherwise publicly available. We do not collect or distribute donations for Minnesotans experiencing homelessness. 

If you’re in crisis, our best recommendation is always to call 2-1-1 from wherever you are in the state. That will connect you to the United Way, which runs a 24-hour crisis connection center. You can also reach the same line by text at 898-211, or toll free at 1-800-543-7709. 

Some other steps you can take: 

• To apply for rental assistance, visit Rent HelpMN 
• Connect with your area’s Coordinated Entry team to be assessed and  connected with housing resources. 
• Find a local food bank through Hunger Solutions, online or by calling 1-888-711-1151.
• Apply for public assistance, including emergency cash assistance during a crisis, at ApplyMN. 
• Find your local Community Action Partnership to hear about other community programming, or contact the statewide MinnCAP at  (651) 645-7425. 
• Search for assistance closest to you through MinnesotaHelp.Info or the Twin Cities Mutual Aid Map. 
• If you are experiencing domestic violence, call Day One at 1-866-223-1111 for information about shelters and other resources across the state.
• Find a local resource guide, like the Handbook of the Streets (Minneapolis), Handbook of the Streets (St. Paul), or the Olmsted County Community Resource Guide

If you’re looking for somewhere to donate goods or supplies, we can’t take any of them off your hands. Several of our member organizations can, along with allied groups around the state. A few options include Lutheran Social Services, People Serving People, Catholic Charities, Bridging, and the St. Paul Camps Hub.
