MN House proposal cuts millions from proven and effective housing/homeless programs
The House Job Growth and Energy Committee has released their initial omnibus bill.
- Family Homeless Prevention & Assistance cut $1.3 million
- Housing Trust Fund Rental Assistance cut $2.4 million
- Challenge Fund (housing construction/rehab) cut $5 million
MN House proposes cutting Health & Human Services by $1.1 billion.
The committee has not released the specifics yet on where they will cut. We are closely watching and will let you know as soon as we know.
Please call your House Member this week and tell them:
“Please do not cut housing and homeless programs. Please invest $39 million in Homes for All. Housing stability helps kids do better at school. Housing stability saves money in other parts of the budget. Housing stability helps entire communities.”
After calling your own state representative, please call House leadership with the same message:
Rep. Kurt Daudt, Speaker of the House 651.296.5364
Rep. Jim Knoblach, Ways & Means Cmte, Chair 651.296.6612
Rep. Pat Garofalo, Job Growth & Energy Cmte, Chair 651.296.1069
Please let Atom Robinson (email@example.com) know who you call and what you hear back.
