Twin Cities High School Students Raise Awareness about Youth Homelessness
Over 220 high school students from across the Twin Cities metro area participated in the 4th Annual Box City Vigil (Friday April, 18th) to raise awareness for youth homelessness.
The night was filled with informative speakers, a great music group Sheltered Reality, and teens coming together for a common cause.
Participants built box shelters and stayed overnight. For many, the experienced helped them better understand what experiencing homelessness would feel like and helped them better understand the horrible injustice that befalls youth when they experience homelessness.
This years event was organized and executed by several Bloomington area high school students, including Michael Riebel, Courtney Galagher, Dana Hanson, Molly Kalina, Liz Palin, Natalie Hazel, and Chelsey Jernberg.
