The Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless Annual Conference has been scheduled for the 20th and 21th of October 2008, at the Arrowwood Resort & Conference Center in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Plans to do justice are everywhere — local and state plans to end homelessness, campaigns to end hunger, commissions to end poverty. And people are joining the cause. Communities have come together to end poverty through programs like Circles of Support and Horizons. High school and college students are fueling local activism. Sounds like a movement is coming together!
Yet, our work is far from over. Plans are nothing without resources and policy changes. Commissions accomplish nothing if advocates don’t hold our leaders accountable to carrying out needed recommendations.
At this year’s conference, in addition to workshops on how to provide quality homeless services, we will highlight how we can hold the campaigns to end everything from homelessness to poverty to their highest ideals.
