Networking and Fun are Focus of Annual Golf Tourney

Thank you to everyone who made the Coalition’s 9th Annual Golf outing a huge success! The Coalition raised about $11,000 on the event.

This year’s event was held on Friday, August 11, 2006, at Chomonix Golf Course in Lino Lakes.

Thirteen teams of people from across Minnesota competed. While figuring out who the winner of this year’s tournament was, Pat Leary, a long-time ally of the Coalition, said, “It’s happened again. We have two teams that have tied for lowest gross score; we’ll have to have a putt off to see who the winner is.” Hennepin County’s team designated Tom Pingatore as its putter. The other team designated Anoka County Commissioner Scott Ledoux (Minnesota’s new Boxing Commissioner) to putt on its behalf. Hennepin County came out on top to win the tournament.

A team of golfers representing Spectrum Mental Health took home the trophy for lowest net score.

Besides enjoying a relaxing day on the greens, golfers used the daylong affair to network and to compete in a variety of contests, including a hole-in-one contest sponsored by Luther Suzuki.
