New supportive housing units open in Mankato
Salvation Army of Mankato has received a grant from HUD to open ten supportive housing units for adults. The initiative will include two case managers to support residents.
According to an article in the Mankato Free Press:
The combination of free or reduced-price housing and one-on-one, intensive service delivery is called supportive housing, and it’s seen as a way to combat long-term homelessness. A six-year $20.4 million Blue Earth and Ramsey county program tackles the problem in much the same way as it serves dozens of single adults and families.
