Minneapolis League of Women Voters Hosts Forum on Homelessness
Can you register to vote if your address is under a bridge? Do homeless people vote? The answer to both questions is yes and on Thursday, February 21, LWV Mpls hosted a forum entitled: The 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness, Be Part of the Solution.
The Housing Committee is working in partnership with Temple Israel and other co-sponsors throughout Minnesota to educate its members, the public and offer opportunities for involvement. A panel spoke about current plans to eliminate the experience of homelessness for individuals, youth and families. An overview of the most recent Wilder Research data was presented followed with comments from NAMI and the Mpls Police Department.
