MCH Holds Successful Homelessness Awareness Event at Mall of America

During Nat’l Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week (Nov. 11 - 17, 2007), the Coalition educated people about efforts to end homelessness in Minnesota.

In an effort to generate discussion about affordable housing, Nathan Sawaya, a nationally acclaimed professional LEGO® Master Model Builder, built a large house made out of LEGOs, which was on display throughout the week.  Interaction around Nathan’s LEGO sculpture gave us a great opportunity to visually display how affordable housing is an important piece of ending homelessness.

The event also featured an interactive display including a variety of pictures, facts and figures illustrating various aspects of homelessness.
