General Assistance (GA) & Emergency General Assistance (EGA)
In his supplemental budget released on February 15, 2010, Governor Pawlenty proposed eliminating both General Assistance and Emergency General Assistance.
General Assistance (GA) is Minnesota’s primary safety net for single adults and childless couples. The maximum benefit for a single adult is $203/month and for couples $260/month.
Emergency General Assistance (EGA) provides vital assistance for low-income individuals in emergency situations.
