Calling for Presenters for November Conference
MCH is pleased to release our Call for Presenters for our Annual Conference “Rise to the Challenge: Building a Culture of Collaboration to End Homelessness” to be held November 15 - 16, 2010 at the St Cloud Civic Center.
We live in challenging times: a 27% increase in family homelessness; a 32% increase in youth homelessness; a state budget in crisis. This year’s annual get-together will be an opportunity to refuel our passion, rededicate ourselves, and rejuvenate our work. Recent studies from the Government’s Accountability Office have highlighted the need for increased collaboration between federal agencies. During the last legislative session, MCH collaborated in new ways with communities of faith, labor, and nonprofits to protect the safety net. At the office, we’re sharing space with related organizing groups. At the conference, we are looking to highlight successful models of collaboration.
We are particularly interested in proposals that provide tangible suggestions for:
- Working across sectors to prevent and end homelessness
- Intergovernmental partnerships
- Involving volunteers and community members in new ways
- Innovations in regional collaboration
Proposals due August 25th!
